Worker rushed to hospital after being run over by forklift at Fulwood firm

An employee of a Preston-based business was rushed to hospital this morning after being run over by a forklift.

The incident happened at around 8am this morning (September 23) at Jonesco on Pittman Way in Fulwood with North West Ambulance taking the person the hospital.

The circumstances of the incident, described by Jonesco as a ‘forklift truck accident’ are not clear, but a witness told Blog Preston the vehicle ran over the employee.

The incident has been referred to the Health & Safety Executive and Jonesco themselves will carry out an internal investigation into the incident.

A spokesperson for Jonesco said: “A forklift truck accident occurred at our premises at approx. 08:00 this morning, with one employee sustaining injury. Emergency services attended promptly and our colleague was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

“The company will thoroughly investigate this incident to ensure any safety improvements are identified and implemented immediately. HSE have been informed.”
