Halloween will be here before you know it! Whether you prefer ghouls and ghosts and all things creepy or cute pumpkins and funny little monsters, here are five renter-friendly DIYs for Halloween decorating.

Door Wreaths

If you prefer the cuter side of Halloween decor, a door wreath adds the perfect touch to any entrance or porch. There are several ways to make one yourself, and they can be fully customized to fit any aesthetic!

Floaty Decor

Candlesticks, witch’s hats, little bats, the possibilities are endless. A fishing line is a fantastic way to hang decor pieces from the ceiling and doorways to really give the illusion of floating since it’s hardly visible. DIY candlesticks from toilet paper and paper towel tubes, or craft little bats from black construction paper.

Window Decor

Static clings and window films are a great way to dress up any window or even interior mirrors. Look for tutorials online to create your own window clings with PVA glue, or you could simply cut out shapes and silhouettes from paper and cardboard and rely on light for a scary shadow.

No Carve Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is a favored Halloween tradition, but you might not have enough outdoor space for a traditional-sized jack-o’lantern in smaller rental units. Additionally, candles might not be allowed on balconies in condo buildings. Instead, opt for a no-carve pumpkin idea. This could be painting the pumpkin, using Mod Podge, and decopodging pretty paper or decals to the outside, or whatever else you can think of. This is a more kid-friendly activity, and the pumpkins should last longer than carved ones!

Your Own Graveyard

Not with actual graves, of course. Tombstones are an easy DIY from cardboard or crafting foam and a little creativity. Stick them in the grass with wooden stakes and dress them up with fake cobwebs and bones. A graveyard is a fantastic DIY for anyone with a yard who wants to scare the trick-or-treaters this year.
