Another of Chorley’s former nightclubs could soon be converted into housing.

Months after plans were approved for the once iconic Applejax venue to be turned into HMOs, a similar plan has been submitted to transform the former Lost bar into 18 bedsits..

If approved, the Fazakerley Street building, which has sat empty since 2022, will be converted to house the studio flats along with a two communal kitchens and a basement laundry area.

The building was purpose built as a wine bar around 20 years ago and subsequently operated as a coffee shop and wine bar before its most recent use as a nightclub.

A report submitted with the planning applications states: “The design will give minimal change to the main façade fronting Fazakerley Street pedestrian area, with just four roof lights added to the roof and the removal of the vertical timber cladding to the entrance door.”

It adds: “All materials will match the existing, and or will be sympathetic to the area and blend in with the surrounding.”

Chorley Borough Council will decide whether to grant planning permission for the change.
