A crackdown on anti-social behaviour in Preston city centre has seen a dispersal order issued for the second night in a row.

Running until 1am on Saturday (26 October) and in place from now it stops groups of people from congregating.

Preston Police can use the section-34 order to ask people to leave the city centre area covered by the powers.

It follows an incident involving dozens of youths at Preston Markets on Tuesday which resulted in police being called.

Police say the dispersal orders are being used following reports of anti-social behaviour.

The order covers the Corporation Street junction with Fishergate, up the A59 and along Corporation Street to the junction with Walker Street.

Then along Walker Street to the junction with Queens Street and Avenham Lane.

Preston Police said during Thursday’s dispersal order a 15-year-old boy was ‘given a section 35 notice and removed from the area’.
