‘Good support for youth services’ at parliamentary drop-in

UK Youth staff members joined representatives from across the sector at a parliamentary event.

The NCS Trust organised the Back Youth Alliance ‘meet the youth sector’ drop-in.

Kate Roberts, UK Youth policy manager, who joined Ndidi Okezie OBE, UK Youth chief executive officer at the event, said: “We spoke to more than 20 MPs about UK Youth and our collective work with the Back Youth Alliance 

 “It was great to see some really good support for youth services and listening to young people when designing policy 

 “It was also very positive to bring the youth sector together to do an event like this, something we haven’t done before, and share our Back Youth Alliance Agenda for Change.”

The Back Youth Alliance is a collaboration of senior leaders and youth representatives from some of the UK’s leading youth charities, including UK Youth. Other members present in parliament included YMCA George Williams College, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Girlguiding, National Youth Agency, OnSide, The King’s Trust, Scouts, YMCA England & Wales and Youth United Foundation.

Describing the event as “an incredible day”, an NCS Trust spokesman said: “It was an amazing opportunity to connect directly with Parliamentarians and showcase the incredible work of our hashtag#BackYouth partners as well as young people who have benefited from the experiences, programmes and support each partner provides..

“A massive thank you to everyone in the alliance for making this event such a resounding success.”
