HOME Depot is selling a “high-quality” tiny home kit for just $26,499 – it has two bedrooms, and excitingly, the assembly is “hassle-free.”
The home improvement company, still relatively new to the tiny home market, has jumped on the trend all guns blazing.
As house prices are on the rise, many people are joining the tiny home train to cut costs.
Tiny homes are usually no larger than 400 square feet but they can be either transportable or stationary.
Home Depot‘s Rose Cottage is available online for $26,499 and delivered straight to your door.
According to the retailer’s website, it’s “pre-assembled steel panels make for a “hassle-installation.”
The home is made of “high-quality steel,” making it durable and weather-resistant.
And it’s “termite and shrink-proof” features make it easy to maintain.
From the outside, Rose Cottage looks like a pleasant family home.
But it could be used as a guest house, an ADU, an Airbnb vacation rental, an in-law suite, a multigenerational unit, an investment property, an office.
It also has two bedrooms, one bathroom.
However, the listing does specify anyone who buys this item will be buying the steel frame kit only.
The website states: “CFS building solutions also provide the frame plus weatherproofing Dry-In Kit solution or erect the frame service.”
THE HIGHLIGHTS
The steel frame kit comes with the steel stud frame, the OSB or plywood, which is attached to the exterior frame.
It also comes with “easy to follow” building instructions.
Home Depot will also provide a framing calculation package, stamped structural engineering plans, a foundation plan, architectural and site plan, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans.
It will also title 24/building or energy efficiency reports for permitting applications in your area.

What is a tiny home?
Technically, a tiny home is any house measuring under 400 square feet.
Many tiny homes are built on trailers so they can be towed anywhere, and some are converted from old school buses or vans.
Each state has its own rules about tiny homes, but, generally, they are not subject to the same taxes as regular homes.
However, Alaska, Iowa, Louisiana, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, and West Virginia have made tiny homes illegal as permanent dwellings.
The panelized steel frame system won’t require any welding, as all the parts are clearly labelled.
However, if you would like to customize or modify your tiny home, just contact Well Done 1 Homes.
It’s also important to check with your local building department to assess permit fees and safety requirements to make sure they comply with size requirements, setbacks and height restrictions.
Lastly, the return policy.
Once you place an order, Well Done 1 Home Kits will confirm your requirements.
After this, you cannot cancel or modify your frame kit order.
But you should contact the store if you have any questions.
