Man arrested after Deepdale rooftop stand-off with police

A rooftop stand-off closed a road in Deepdale throughout Sunday evening.

Preston Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Peel Hall Street.

Parts of the road along with Lincoln Street in Deepdale were cordoned off as a police chase resulted in a wanted man taking to the roof of a property.

A police spokesperson told Blog Preston the man had remained on the roof for several hours – with the incident taking place between Sunday afternoon and being resolved around 11pm on Sunday.

A 33-year-old man, of no fixed address, was eventually brought down safely from the roof.

He was arrested on suspicion GBH, robbery, false imprisonment, administering a noxious substance and affray. He remains in custody at this time.
