Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyeama, has said airline operators in Nigeria want the numerous charges they pay to government at airports be removed for there to be ease of doing business in the aviation sector.

Onyema made this known while speaking to newsmenbon Tuesday evening after meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the State House, Abuja.

The Air Peace CEO, who acknowledged that the government has made notable efforts to ease business in the country, said “Aviation all over the world has been a turbulent arena since after the COVID because of the supply chain issues”.

According to him: “This is not peculiar to Nigeria but the Nigerian government is listening to us and making sure the ease of doing business in the sector is back.

“I have just had a session with the Vice President and everything he said is that the government is actually promoting the ease of doing business.

“I can testify that the government is actually promoting the ease of doing business especially in aviation. You can see the wonderful job Festus Keyamo is doing in that end. He is performing wonders there. So we are happy.

We are here to also thank the government because they have been giving us listening ears and we want more of that, to make sure all those numerous charges we face are removed and we have every confidence that the government will do something about it.”
