The Northern Lights have been visible across Preston and the surrounding area once again.

Those looking up were greeted to the sight of the aurora dancing across the skies just after sunset.

The pictures above show the Northern Lights visible in Longridge with reports of them also seen in Ribbleton, Lostock Hall and Ingol.

They were last as clearly visible in May although there have been a number of confirmed sightings since.

The AuroraWatchUK website reports a high amount of geomagnetic activity throughout Thursday (10 October).

If you spotted the aurora you can share your pictures with us at contactus@blogpreston.co.uk or tag us on socials and we’ll add them to our gallery below.
