Classical and jazz fans are in for a treat when Paul Greenhalgh makes his Preston solo recital debut on the St Michael’s Church Bösendorfer grand piano.

The major work in Paul’s programme is Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Classical pieces include Beethoven’s The Hunt Sonata and the slow movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto.

Paul, who is Principal of Blackburn School of Music, is accompanist of Preston Orpheus Choir.

Earlier this year, he performed with the acclaimed Pennine Piano Trio at the prestigious Ribble Valley Music Festival.

Recital organiser Stephen Davies said: “Paul will be well known to Preston music lovers as the Orpheus Choir’s accompanist.

“This is an opportunity to hear him perform solo a varied programme on our wonderful Bösendorfer grand piano – in a venue that has some of the best acoustics in the city.”

The recital starts at 3pm on Sunday 6 October at St Michael and All Angels with St Marks Church Preston in Egerton Road, Ashton-on-Ribble. It will be followed by refreshments in the Hall.

The church is on the 68 bus route and has ample parking.

Tickets are £12 with concessions available. They are available from Eventbrite, by ringing 07748 205695 or on the door.
