Preston is set to welcome back the UK’s top Dominican salsa and bachata artist for a night of live Latin music.

July Julay will perform with his band The Mambo Kings – a nine-piece Latin band featuring drums, piano, percussion, bass and trumpet – on Saturday 19 October at Chew’s Yard.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, July has been based in Manchester for over a decade. Since moving to the UK, July has quickly become known as one of Europe’s leading bachata artists, performing with his band and as a guest artist at various venues across the country.

In 2009, he released his debut album Sin Ningun Temor to critical acclaim. His singles have enjoyed radio play in Santo Domingo and earned him appearances on several TV shows there. The album also led to his nomination for the inaugural GSD Media & Latin American Music Awards in the UK.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming back July Julay and The Mambo Kings,” said Chew’s Yard’s Operations Manager, Frank Whiteley. “Their previous show in June was a huge hit with lovers of salsa and Latin. It’s going to be another fantastic live experience that will have everyone up and dancing.”
