Recruitment has opened at a supermarket ahead of a 2025 opening date, with more roles expected to be advertised soon.
Lidl is due to open at The Cawsey between Penwortham and Walton-le-Dale by February 20, 2025 – although a spokesperson for the retailer said this is a provisional date.
The build has been underway for several months at this stage with a grey, metal structure visible from both the Old Tram Road and The Cawsey itself.

A new access road from The Cawsey is also being constructed. The supermarket itself is expected to be broadly in keeping with their other supermarkets – including a bakery.
A spokesperson for Lidl said that new roles are likely to be advertised regularly for the store and that people interested should ‘keep an eye’ on their careers website.
The business is currently recruiting for customer assistant roles.
