A road in Preston is expected to be closed ‘for some time’ due to a crash.
Woodplumpton Road, in Ashton-on-Ribble, is closed between the junctions for Cadley Causeway and Lytham Road as a result of the crash.
The incident was first reported by police at around 4pm this afternoon (6 October). It is yet not clear how many cars are involved or what injuries, if any, have been sustained as a result.

A spokesperson for police said: “We want to update you and let you know that Woodplumpton Road, Ashton on Ribble is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.
“We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time, whilst we make sure the road is safe and clear.
“In the meantime, we’d recommend looking for an alternative route and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.
“We’ll keep tabs on what’s happening and we’ll update you here once the road is open. As always, thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today.”
