Dog rescued from rubble of Deepdale house explosion

A dog has been rescued from the rubble of a gas explosion in Deepdale.

Preston Police confirmed the dog – of unknown breed – was found safe and well.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were conducting searches of the damaged property in Gillett Street and were able to bring the dog to safety.

An emergency services cordon remains in place around the terraced home in Deepdale.

It follows a gas explosion during Saturday evening around 10.30pm which left a man, in his 40s, in hospital with burns injuries. Blog Preston understands these are not thought to be life-threatening.

An investigation into the explosion continues and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 1500 of 2 November 2024.
