Preston’s road network became gridlocked as fog descended during Thursday rush hour.

The M6 saw delays of more than half-an-hour in both directions as visibility was greatly reduced.

A crash at the M55 slip road near Junction 32 led to delays back onto the M6.

There was heavy congestion around the Bluebell Way area for the Junction 31A southbound entry.

The foggy conditions were also on Ringway and in the city centre.

The mist and fog is expected to continue through until the early hours of Friday (15 November) morning before leading to an overcast day in the city during Friday with a growing chance of showers and drizzle throughout the day and evening.
