The Chiefs have announced that they have started selling tickets for a Wild Card playoff game.

The franchise would take part in the potential fixture should they be the second-seeded division winner or the seventh-seeded wild card team.

The two sides would face each other for a spot in the playoffs, which has seen the team make the confusing post.

The post read: “Tickets for a potential home Wild Card game are now on sale!”

The Chiefs are currently top of the AFC West division and are likely to be one of the top qualifiers.

This has led fans to claim that the fixture will not be needed as they are predicting the team to be the top seed.

The number one seeded side gets a bye straight into the Divisional Round and bypasses the Wild Card stage.

One fan posted: “Won’t need it.”

A second commented: “As if we will be playing in the wildcard.”

A third wrote: “So how does this work when the Chiefs get the one seed?”

A fourth said: “We’re getting that #1 seed.”

Another added: “Wild Card!? What is that??”

For some fans that might purchase tickets anyway will be refunded if the Wild Card is not needed.

A statement added: “If a Wild Card Playoff Game will not be held at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

“Any tickets purchased for the Wild Card Playoff game are invalid and your payment will be refunded back to the method of payment used.”

The Chiefs are currently undefeated at 9-0 ahead of the final seven matches.
