The Spud Brothers are launching a ‘spudathon’ this Friday with all their profits going to BBC’s Children in Need.

The viral TikTok duo, Harley and Jacob Nelson are taking part in a 30-hour spudathon, starting at 10am at Media City in Salford.

They will then head back to the Flag Market in Preston, where they usually sell their spuds, from 10pm on Friday until 4pm on Saturday.

They also revealed that they have ‘something special’ planned after their stint in Salford and are asking people to tune into Children in Need Live.

The brothers from Preston have over three million followers across social media.

In a post on Facebook, they said: “We are two young lads that both grew up in Preston, we are proud of our city.

“We have a potato tram in Preston that is over 70 years old some may remember it called the hot potato tram, today we have over 4 million followers and are recognised globally. Preston is trending worldwide.

On Monday (11 November) the duo welcomed BBC Radio 2 star, Paddy McGuinness, to Moor Park.

Paddy went on board The Spud Brother’s potato tram and had a go at making his very own jacket potato.

Paddy finished the first leg of his BBC Children in Need Challenge in Preston, cycling 66.4 miles before he reached the park.

He will eventually complete the challenge on Friday when he reaches Glasgow.
