Two young women from Melbourne are receiving critical care after consuming tainted alcohol in south-east Asia, 9News understands.
The women, who are believed to have graduated from schools in Melbourne's Bayside suburbs, reportedly drank the substance while travelling on a gap year with a group of people in Laos.
It's understood at least a dozen people have been hospitalised after drinking the tainted alcohol.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has been contacted for comment.
