Woman in her 30s dies in hospital after Tramway Lane crash

A woman has died in hospital after a serious crash close to Bamber Bridge.

A 37-year-old woman, who was on foot, was taken to hospital after a crash involving an Audi A3 on Tramway Lane at around 6.35pm on 24 October.

The woman was suffering from serious injuries. She died in hospital today (11 November), police have confirmed.

A spokesperson for police said: “Our thoughts are very much with her family and loved ones at this very sad and distressing time.

“We continue to appeal for witnesses and footage of the collision as we investigate what happened.”

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs. He was later released under investigation.

Police continue to appeal for information relating to the incident.
