A DRIVER had a rude awakening when she took her new Volkswagen to the dealership after ditching a luxury brand.
TikToker Sarah M was shocked when she walked into her new service center and saw it was nothing like BMW’s.

The TikToker filmed a sparse seating area that had nothing but a scant beverage station[/caption]
That’s because the Volkswagen center had a meager waiting room and paled in comparison to her previous experience with free Wi-Fi and cafe drinks.
Sarah (@sarahm_shares) posted a POV-style video of the service center and revealed that it looked like a standard mechanic’s shop.
It had a small seating area, a counter to chat with a Volkswagen worker, and a coffee machine sitting beside a water cooler.
The driver panned across the waiting room in the video as a sound played that mentioned “the ghetto.”
“Love my VW, but tf is this?” she wrote in the caption.
The clip amassed nearly 500,000 views as drivers debated whether Sarah’s experience was out of the ordinary.
“My husband’s Toyota dealer has a barista and a bistro. This looks like a Goodyear tire shop,” one person wrote.
Another said, “Oof, that’s rough,” and another wrote, “My VW dealer is so nice compared to this.”
Other drivers admitted their BMW dealerships were nice but said it wasn’t worth their issues with the luxury rides.
“I would rather have this than all the problems I had with BMW,” another viewer wrote.
In a follow-up video, Sarah agreed with this comment, but admitted enjoying BMW’s lux treatment.
She said that once a high-end car has been driven for three years, drivers “will live in that service center.”
Luxury brands offer loaner vehicles for you to drive home, but Sarah said she prefers to wait to get her car back so she can continue her day.
“I actually had the option to get a loaner vehicle at the Volkswagen dealership,” she said.
“I just don’t think that’s always the most convenient thing to do.”
Dealership Tips
Here are some expert tips when purchasing a car from a dealership lot:
- 1. Set your price: Ensure you’ve calculated your monthly budget before going to the lot. You should include the car’s loan payment, insurance costs, fuel, and regular maintenance.
- 2. Research: Make sure you know which cars you’re interested in test driving before you reach the dealership.
- 3. Pre-approval: Secure financing before you go to the dealership. Dealerships may give you a better interest rate if they are competing with an outside bank.
- 4. Test away: Get behind the wheel before making any payments. A car purchase will be worth thousands of dollars – drivers should ensure they like the drivetrain, steering feel, and comfort of the car before taking it off the lot
- 5. Haggle: Drivers should always try to negotiate the price. There are so many good cars on the American market – buyers have a strong hand when negotiating price.

Sarah said she was geared up to enjoy her stay at the Volkswagen service center after spending hours at the BMW dealership waiting for her previous car to be fixed.
At BMW, the auto brand offered private cubicles where customers could take work calls and stay busy while they waited.
There were also coffee stations and food options to choose from while you relaxed.
However, the driver explained the constant need for repairs made owning a BMW unsustainable.
“Luxury cars gotta have a nice service center because it will be your second home,” she wrote in the caption.
