Fuller quickly called for help and two locals rushed to her husband's aid in a boat.

It's understood the boat capsized during the rescue operation before Vennix was finally brought back to shore unconscious.

His wife and locals then tried to perform CPR but they could not revive him.

The pair were married on December 20 in Adelaide before they headed to Bali for their honeymoon.

Vennix's employer told 9News the couple had two children and was well liked by his colleagues.
