A car was reported travelling at well over 100mph on a motorway near Preston.
The incident, reported just after midnight this morning (25 December) by police, happened on the M55 close to junction 3 for Kirkham and Wesham.
Police seized the vehicle as a result and the driver was reported. The vehicle, a white Volkswagen, was travelling at 140mph, police said.

A spokesperson for police said: “Officers stopped this vehicle on the M55 travelling in excess of 140mph.
“Vehicle seized and driver reported.”
