Visitors to Chorley will be able to enjoy ice skating, children’s rides and festive tipis as the popular Winter Wonderland returns to the town centre.

Located opposite Chorley Town Hall, the festive attraction will run from Saturday 14 December to 5 January (except Christmas Day) and is expected to be visited by thousands.

The 60ft by 40ft covered ice rink will offer general skating sessions and discounted sessions for children age five and under. Community and school groups also have the opportunity to book group sessions in advance at a reduced price by emailing [email protected].

The festive tipis will be back offering a range of drinks. When it comes to food, there’s a new concept allowing visitors to order via the Chorley Eats app from a variety of local takeaways, and get it delivered to their table in the tipis.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council said: “What could be more festive than taking to the ice at Christmastime, enjoying food and drink in festive tipis and having a great time with friends, family or work colleagues, right here in Chorley.

“The attraction is also right on the doorstep of other things to enjoy in Chorley such as independent shops, Chorley Markets, high street brands and entertainment venues at Market Walk, so why go anywhere else this Christmas!”

Located in Chorley town centre, the attraction is close to free or low-cost parking, plus a stone’s throw from the town’s bus and train stations.

To make way for the Winter Wonderland, Cleveland Street car park will be closed until Friday 10 January. Alternative car parks can be found via Chorley Council website.
