The M6 is closed southbound due to a serious road traffic collision.
The incident, first reported at 10.24pm this evening (21 December) happened between junction 33 for Garstang and junction 32 for Broughton and the M55.
National Highways: North West are diverting traffic via the A6 and police have warned that the road is going to be closed ‘for some time’.

A spokesperson for police said: “Please be aware that the M6 is currently closed on the southbound carriageway between junctions 33 and 32 following a road traffic collision.
“This is expected to be closed for some time. Please find an alternative route where possible.”
