MCDONALD’S customers have noticed a new “time limit” sign in the window, and it’s sparking some debate among diners.

While some are confused, others are sharing their thoughts on the reasoning behind the policy.

One customer posted a picture on Facebook showing a notice that tells diners they can only stay in the restaurant for a maximum of 30 minutes.

The sign also reads: “No loitering.”

Sharing the picture, the customer asked: “Ever seen a sign like this at McDonald’s?”

Some believe it’s a way to keep tables available for new customers, especially during busy times, while others feel it might be more about speeding up turnover or even limiting the number of people hanging around.

The new rule has sparked plenty of conversations, with some agreeing it’s a practical move, while others think it’s a little too strict.

There were 40 comments (at the time of publishing) on the post which was shared in the Facebook group called Retail Dead or Alive.

One customer wrote: “Many McDonald’s in the cities or higher crime areas have those signs.

“They’re actually McDonald’s issued signs that individual franchisees can purchase for their location(s).

“They’re more of a deterrent as it’s not legally enforceable in many areas.”

A second added: “It’s a common sign at local fast food restaurants near me, most McDonald’s and every Burger King.

“You’ll definitely see it along the main corridor bus route. The rule is used selectively.

“It’s more for some of the street people, but yeah, if someone parks themselves all day and uses the wi-fi, it’s to remind them they aren’t at their parents house.”
