Motorist cut from car and taken to hospital in Broadgate junction crash

One person was cut from a car in a crash which saw emergency services scrambled to the Liverpool Road bridge between Broadgate and Penwortham.

The crash, involving three vehicles, took place close to the Strand Road junction with Broadgate on the bridge over the River Ribble.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Preston and Penwortham to the scene.

Firefighters cut one person free from a vehicle and they were taken to hospital. Their injuries are unknown.

The crash took place shortly after 6pm on Saturday 30 November and police directed traffic at the scene.

Preston Police said the crash was a damage-only collision.
