The leader of a major charity in the city has announced he will be stepping down.
Alasdair Jackson OBE is currently chief executive of Recycling Lives Charity.
He confirmed the charity, headquartered in Deepdale, would be searching for a full-time chief executive – compared with the three days he currently does.
Mr Jackson has overseen significant growth in the charity’s operations in his seven year tenure with it operating across prison rehabilitation, foodbank supply and homelessness initiatives.
He is due to step down in June next year.
Mr Jackson told Blog Preston: “I’ve been with Recycling Lives for nearly 22 years, seven of which as Chief Executive of the Charity.
“The time is right for someone else to take on the mantle full time and guide the charity through the coming years. I’ll be sticking around in some capacity to help shape that next period.”
He is the second high profile charity chief executive in the city to announce their departure as The Foxton prepares for Jeff Marsh its current CEO to exit in Spring 2025.
