We’ll guide you to hidden gems that are easy on the wallet, but also dish out destinations with prices where you’ll likely do a double take – adding an extra level of consideration to your travel plans.
European bargains:
Mediterranean coasts take the crown.
Want to stretch your pounds while exploring Europe? Lisbon stands out as our best-value destination, with return flights averaging £173. It offers a delightful blend of city charm and endless beaches to boot. With nearly a third of the Mediterranean coastline, Spain and Italy are also topping our radar for budget-friendly summer getaways. These countries offer several spots that combine culture with easy access to gorgeous beaches. For a change of pace, Albania is making its mark this summer again. You’ll find plenty of sunshine and beaches that can compete with the Caribbean without the hefty price tag – for flights and hotels.
Wander far, spend less:
from Asia to the U.S.
Who says long-haul travel has to cost an arm and a leg? North Africa is making waves, with Marrakech costing as little as £240 for return flights on average and Algiers following at an average of £316. North America is also in the mix, with Toronto, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles all within budget reach. And if Asia is calling your name, Seoul and Jakarta are ready for you, with return economy flights averaging £660 and £683 respectively - just be mindful of rain and typhoon season when planning your trip.
Travel price peaks.
KAYAK's flight search data reveals many affordable options, but here it also highlights destinations where prices are on the rise. And it looks like price increases in some destinations could test your wallet next summer. These increases add an extra layer of planning and booking consideration if you’re aiming to keep your budget in the black.
