A major investigation is under way into how a falling brick wall killed a Perth father in the city's north-eastern suburbs.

Worksafe spent Friday combing through the scene trying to piece together exactly how the brick wall collapsed, killing a 69-year-old man at the Sexton Road property in Inglewood.

Earlier today a worker was seen arriving at the scene, collecting machinery and appearing distressed.

Another person arrived to leave flowers by the letterbox of the house.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 1.15pm yesterday, where it was believed a three-metre wall had fallen onto two men.

The 69-year-old found dead at the scene is believed to be the father of the property owner.

The other injured man, 26, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where he was in a serious but stable condition.

The CFMEU released a statement sending "our deepest condolences".

"The impact that these tragic events have on the families involved and the workmates who witness these horrendous occurrences, affects everyone in our industry, and the community as a whole," it said.

The investigation is expected to take some time, leaving a family grieving and without answers in the lead up to Christmas.
