MILES Laflin is a TikTok content creator and pool cleaner that most people will know as @thep00lguy.
The cleaning superstar snagged a trophy at the TikTok Awards UK and Ireland 2024, which was given to him by a TV icon.
Miles’ love of cleaning
Miles started out as a labourer before being offered the chance to become a swimming pool apprentice.
He quickly realised that he loved his new job.
On his website, Mile even says that, when it comes to cleaning jobs, “the dirtier the pool, the better”.
Eventually, he decided to give social media users a peek behind the scenes of how pools actually get cleaned.
He started posting videos on TikTok about his job and soon racked up one million followers.
The pool cleaner now has over 15 million followers on the social media platform.
In one video, Miles joked: “If I had known people enjoyed watching pool cleaning this much, I would have started a long time ago.”
State of the art technology
In his videos, Miles unpacks the complex processes that cleaners use to keep swimming pools clean.
He posts timelapses on his cleaning projects, which show viewers how a dirty pool can be made squeaky clean.
Miles also reveals the latest in cleaning technology, including a futuristic robot which drives itself around a swimming pool and hoovers up dirt.
The machines can even drive up the pool walls.

Miles received the High Quality Content Creator of the Year award at TikTok Awards UK & Ireland 2024.
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage presented him with the accolade and fans quickly rushed to cheer him on.

Sky commented: “HOLLA AT YA BOY THE WINNER!”
