16-year-old boy from Leyland charged with alcohol thefts

A 16-year-old boy has been charged after shoplifting bottles of alcohol.

The teenager, from Leyland, was arrested after a spate of shoplifting across Preston and Leyland.

Between November and January he stole alcohol and other items from Tesco, B&M and The Range.

After enquiries the boy was arrested on Monday 20 January.

He has since been charged with three counts of theft from a shop, two counts of attempted theft and possession of a Class B drug. He cannot be named for legal reasons.

He will appear before Preston Youth Court next month.
