The much-anticipated draw ceremony for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals is set to take place at the Mohamed V National Theatre in Rabat, Casablanca, on Monday evening, January 27.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria, who are three-time African champions, have been placed in Pot 1. They will be strategically positioned to avoid powerful teams such as Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Cote d’Ivoire.
Head Coach Éric Sékou Chelle, Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor, and the Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, will represent the Super Eagles at the ceremony in Morocco’s administrative capital.
This tournament, commencing on December 21 and concluding on January 18, holds the distinction of being the first AFCON to stretch from one year into the next. Morocco is set to host this event once again, having last welcomed the tournament in 1988, when Cameroon claimed victory. The nation had previously been awarded hosting rights for the 2015 finals but withdrew due to concerns over the Ebola outbreak.

Pot 2: Cameroon, Mali, Tunisia, South Africa, DR Congo, Burkina Faso
