A road to the north of Preston is closed due to a crash with emergency services in attendance.
The A6 at Catterall is closed at the junction for Cock Robin Lane and police say the closure will be in place ‘for some time’.
The incident is thought to have happened at around 9pm this evening (24 January). Lancashire Constabulary are in attendance. North West Ambulance Service have attended and departed the scene, Blog Preston understands.

The statement given by police appears to state that Cock Robin Lane itself is closed rather than the A6 but images show that not to be the case.
A spokesperson for police said: “We want to update you and let you know that Cock Robin Lane to the A6 in Catterall is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.
“We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time, whilst we assess the situation.
“In the meantime, we’d recommend looking for an alternative route, avoiding the area and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.
“We’ll keep tabs on what’s happening and we’ll update you here once the road is open. As always, thank you for your patience and stay safe if you’re out and about today.”
