A supermarket has been accused by a motorist of ‘penny-pinching’ after displaying the wrong petrol price.
Eagle-eyed Blog Preston reader Janet Sue decided to fill up at the Fulwood Asda store after seeing 132.7p advertised.
She said: “We were driving to an appointment and went by Sainsburys who were 132.9p
“On our way home we popped in for fuel at Asda Fulwood as the price was shown as 132.7p but we were charged 133.7p at the pump.
“Something is not at all right here. We got suckered in!”

Asda said their big board, displaying the prices, as manually operated and had not been updated to match the pump price.
A spokesperson for Asda said: “The price shown at our pumps will always be the price that drivers will pay, however the process of changing the value on the electronic board is a manual task.
“Unfortunately, the price on the board was changed slightly later than the pumps on this occasion and we’d like to apologise for this. The sign was however updated as soon as we were made aware of this and now matches the price displayed on the pumps.”
