A road in Fulwood was closed overnight after a car crashed into a telegraph pole.
Police were called to D’Urton Lane in Fulwood just before midnight last night (2 January) after a car, a Volkswagen Scirocco, crashed into the pole.
Wires were brought down as a result of the crash, though the pole did not come down, and emergency services were at the scene until this morning (3 January) to make it safe.

The car was damaged in the incident but there were no injuries as a result.
Police were unable to say definitively that ice was the cause or a contributing factor to the incident but did warn people to take care.
They said this morning: “You may recall through the night we had to put a road closure on D’urton Lane in Preston from the junction with Fernyhalgh Lane to Haighton Green Lane.
“This has now been reopened, however, we still would advise you to be mindful of the conditions and drive accordingly as we are still experiencing icy conditions.”
