A nurse has reflected on the support and love she’s felt since achieving her career dream.
Zaibunisha Patel (Zaib) has taken up a role as a staff nurse in the Endoscopy Unit at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.
Recounting the journey she has endured since 2021, Zaib says despite taking eight months out for the tragic death of her grandma, she “picked herself up” and was motivated to work over 2,300 placement hours to contribute to her graduation.

She explained: “I count myself so lucky and blessed to get a job at the end of a very, very tough three-plus years of studying.
Since her journey started, Zaib documented her experiences as she progressed as a health care assistant staff nurse through social media posts.
One post said: “I got there!” and received almost 400 likes with comments from healthcare professionals across the UK.
After the birth of her fourth child, she felt she wanted to do something for herself.
And despite the struggle of being a student again, she said she was “determined to get there.”
