THE NBA has postponed Wednesday night’s New Orleans Pelicans’ home game against the Milwaukee Bucks due to a historic snowstorm.
Parts of Lousiana, including the New Orleans area, and other southern states have been hit with close to a foot of snow this week.

The NBA revealed that a date for the rescheduled game will be announced at a later time.
Tuesday’s winter storm has made road and air travel dangerous for those who were prepared to attend the game at the 18,00-seat, Smoothie King Center in downtown New Orleans.
The Bucks did beat the brutal weather by flying in Monday, a day earlier than usual.
The snow then landed on Tuesday, and temperatures stayed in the 30’s on Wednesday.
On that day, Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans canceled all departing flights.
Milwaukee is set to play at the Miami Heat on Thursday, and the Pelicans have a road game versus the Memphis Grizzlies on the following day.
It’s not known whether the Bucks will have to wait until the day of the game to fly out of The Big Easy.
Wednesday’s contest is the second NBA game this month to be postponed because of winter conditions.
The January 11 matchup between the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena was postponed due to hazardous icy conditions in the Atlanta area.
That contest was rescheduled for January 28.
The NBA also had to postpone and reschedule 10 games due to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
New Orleans was among the many areas affected by the blizzard.
The storm stretched over 1,500 miles and hit parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida.
The blizzard reached historic levels for Louisiana.
For the first time, Lake Charles, Acadiana, and other cities were under a blizzard warning.
New Orleans will hope the snowy weather doesn’t continue and impact a few special dates next month.
The major city will host Super Bowl 59 at the Caesars Superdome on February 9.
New Orleans will then get ready for Mardi Gras festivities set a few weeks later.
