A city college based in Fulwood has decided to close blaming the strong winds.
Preston College in St Vincent’s Road, Fulwood, announced shortly before 1pm on Friday (24 January) it was shutting.
The college said it was working to ‘maintain the safety of its college community’.

A statement released by Preston College said: “In response to the increasing winds and with a view maintaining the safety of our college community, we have taken the decision to close the College for the remainder of the day. Students have been asked to travel home safely.”
The city and surrounding area is currently under an amber weather warning for strong winds – with gusts of up to 70mph – as Storm Éowyn felled trees across the city leading to some road closures.
