In addition to Washington, shoppers can find Costco carwash locations at stores in Arizona, California, Idaho, and Tennessee.
The Costco carwash locations are open every day of the week.
Each carwash includes an exterior wash and wax, tire shine and wheel cleaner, undercarriage wash with rust inhibitor, and spot-free rinse.
The $7.99 service utilizes Envirosoft foam brushes and a newly added ceramic protective coating.
MIXED FEELINGS
Costco shoppers had varying sentiments about the retailer’s carwash service.
Some customers were fans of the carwash, praising how cheap, convenient, and effective it was.
One shopper called it a “great deal at $8” as long as the line wasn’t excessively long, and another shared that they “treat” their car with Costco’s carwash whenever they’re in the area.
A third member commended the $7.99 price point, claiming it was a “better value” than other carwashes near them.
Another Redditor was unaware the store offered the service and called it an “incredible find.”
Other Costco shoppers, on the other hand, weren’t big fans of the service.
“I don’t think it’s anything special,” commented one user. “It’s equivalent to any gas station drive-through car wash that you can get for the same price.”
Many Costco members took issue with the carwash being a brush service rather than touchless, complaining that it was problematic for their cars’ paint.

One user explained that because many shoppers don’t frequently wash their cars, the carwash brushes accumulate dirt and will cause swirl marks on your car after a few years.
“It can be buffed and waxed but that of course costs more than three years of monthly washes. Many cars are gray of course which makes it not as noticeable,” wrote the Costco shopper.
Another member agreed that while the Costco carwash was “fully loaded and cheap,” it would “definitely” ruin your car’s paint over time.
“Unfortunately, I learned this with my previous car and will be only hand washing my new car,” warned the customer.
Although Costco’s carwash services have been around for years, the warehouse club has some new changes in the works.
For example, the retailer has brought back a classic food court favorite but with a twist.
The company is also set for three major changes in 2025.
