Lanes have been closed and there are significant delays after a crash on the M6.

Three lanes are closed between junction 28 for Leyland and junction 29 for the Bamber Bridge interchange after a single-car crash on the northbound carriageway.

The crash was first reported at around 4.50pm today (28 January).

Emergency services including Lancashire Constabulary and officers from National Highways: North West are in attendance.

There are delays of around 45 minutes on top of usual travel time in the area as a result, with traffic queuing back almost as far as junction 27.
