A woman in her 50s has died after being found at a Bamber Bridge pub.

Police were called to the Withy Arms, on Station Road in Bamber Bridge, at 1.30pm today (28 January) to reports the woman had been found unresponsive.

Lancashire Constabulary and North West Ambulance Service attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner, police said.

A spokesperson for police said: “We were called at 1.31pm to the Withy Arms, Station Road, Bamber Bridge, to a report that a woman had been found unresponsive.

“The emergency services attended but very sadly, the woman – who is in her 50s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this distressing time.”

The Withy Arms pub confirmed they would not reopen today but they aim to be back open tomorrow (29 January).
