This Christmas, Rosemere Cancer Foundation raised £1,800 in Penwortham, South Ribble through a wreath-making workshop.
The Rosemere Cancer Foundation is known for bringing cancer treatments and services to patients throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.
They are the region’s specialist cancer treatment and radiotherapy centre, located in Royal Preston Hospital, Fulwood and eight local cancer units across the two counties.

The workshop was organised by Penwortham neighbours, loyal Rosemere Cancer Foundation fundraisers such as Norma Blackburn and Margret Dunn, and Gillian, a former local florist.
Taking place in the Kingsfold Neighbourhood Centre, Penwortham, the trio was supported by their children, who prepared the foliage used for the wreaths and served food and drink to accommodate the volunteers.
The sell-out class took on 75 student volunteers, and Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s fundraising manager, Sue Swire.
Sue said: “Thank you to Norma, Margaret, Gillian and everyone who made the wreath-making workshop such a brilliant success and a very enjoyable experience. The wreaths we made are all gracing our front doors!”
At the festive event, there was also a raffle and a Christmas table laden with gifts for the volunteers to buy.
These gifts were kindly donated by former local cancer patient, Des, who underwent treatment at the centre.
