The former wide receiver revealed that same month that the Whipple procedure was a success and he was officially a “cancer survivor”.
NFL fans waited long and hard to have the popular pundit back on ESPN and he completed his highly-anticipated return for the Super Bowl.
The Minnesota Vikings legend reunited with fellow NFL Countdown presenters Mike Greenberg, Rex Ryan, Alex Smith and Teddy Bruschi.
And they all had a surprise for the New England Patriots hero as they aired a tribute clip that included the likes of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick singing his praises.
The ex-Oakland Raiders star broke down in tears after that fantastic show of support.
An emotional Moss said: “Hey y’all, I couldn’t do it alone, and I really thank y’all.
“Hey guys, it’s been hard but I got a lot of love, and a lot of people believe in me, man, so I’m happy to be here.”
ESPN host Greenberg said: “That is a message from the entire football world, and we are thrilled to have you here.”
Moss responded: “Greeny, don’t do it again. Let’s get this show started.”
The NFL pundit will be covering the Super Bowl showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chiefs and the Eagles lock horns at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
