The former Tesco Express in Church Street is being converted into a One Stop.

The building has been closed since 2021, initially because of a leak in the neighbouring property – East Z East.

One Stop is due to open on Friday 14 February at 11am and is located at 1 Empire House, 12 Church Street, Preston, PR1 3BA.

A One Stop spokesperson said: “We’re delighted that a One Stop Franchise store will be opening on Church Street in Preston.

“The store will provide customers with a wide range of great quality products and services right on their doorstep.”

One Stop was bought by Tesco in 2003.

Research by the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) in the past suggested Tesco charges around five per cent more in its Express outlets and 15 per cent more in the One Stops than in the big supermarkets.
