A two-day closure of a rural link road between Fulwood and Grimsargh will pop-up as major roadworks in Longridge Road move location.
Motorists have been enduring constant gridlock due to the long-running electrical works – compounded by emergency gas works – near the Roman Way and Red Scar industrial estates. The Cadent gas works have now been completed.
As half-term begins Whittingham Lane, near Cow Hill at Haighton, will be closed on Monday (17 February) and Tuesday (18 February). The closure is in both directions between 9.30am and 3.30pm on both days.

Haighton Green Lane remains open to where it meets Brabiner Lane – coming from the Fulwood side.
A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: “The closure has been requested by BT Openreach undertake a road crossing to install ducting and cabling works. The closure is require for safe working practices of the operatives undertaking the work.
“In relation to Longridge Road it will completed so not clash with the BT Openreach closure. The works will then be back on the junction of Longridge Road and Roman Way under multi way signals from the 19th and then moving down Roman Way away from Longridge Road. Again ensuring there are no clashes between the works highlighted.”
