All lanes on the M6 southbound are currently being held by emergency services due to a multi-vehicle collision and a car fire in the aftermath.
The incident, which happened between junction 28 for Leyland and junction 27 for Appley Bridge and Standish was first reported at around 9.55pm this evening (1 February).
Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service are all in attendance.

There are delays of 45 minutes heading southbound as a result of the incident.
National Highways: North West have confirmed that all traffic is being held while emergency services attend the scene and multiple witness reports indicated that there were more than two vehicles involved.
