Bethany House is currently operated by Preston Bethany Care (PBC) and has been providing Christian care in Preston since it opened in 1987.

The move comes after trustees of PBC approached Prigrims’ Friend Society in the hopes of securing the long-term future of the home.

Stephen Hammersley, Chief Executive of Pilgrims’ Friend Society, said: “I am pleased that the wonderful community at Bethany House will become part of our family of care homes, and that we are able to support the important work of providing Christian care in Preston. It is a real privilege for Pilgrims’ Friend Society to serve the home and all who live and work there.”

While Bethany House will remain a separate legal entity being operated by the Pilgrims’ Friend Society, it will become the fifth Christian care home to join the group in the last three years.

Janet Kay, chair of trustees of PBC, added: “We’re delighted that Bethany House will become part of The Pilgrims’ Friend Group in the spring.

“As trustees, we have been prayerfully considering the future of the home and are pleased that this change will ensure the future of Christian care in Preston for the long term.”
