Lucy said: “It was really unexpected but lovely to be awarded for services to the profession and Institute. It’s one of the proudest moments in my career definitely.”

In the last 28 years in the profession, Lucy has previous experience at Royal Bolton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

She explained that despite photographing everything that she is asked to, the profession has changed massively over the years and the medical photography team now carries out a wide range of roles.

Her work across the medical photography profession is recognised by many including families who are grieving through memento photography for bereavement services.

Also on the awards night, Chris Harpley from medical photography won a bronze award for his work.

Similarly, there were gold, two silver and four bronze awards for Cat Lamoon, Kelly Cassidy, Deidre Justusson and Xinlin Chen from Blended Learning.
