The Plungington Hotel in Lytham Road is set to reopen during Thursday (13 February) with a packed weekend, after an investment of over £380,000.

It was closed down in 2021 when it was deemed to ‘no longer have a long-term sustainable future’ with Admiral Taverns.

A community fundraiser was held to try and save it – and followed a period of regular opening and closure for the pub. Now, it is part of Proper Pubs, the community division of Admiral.

The new look for The Plungington Pub.

Carl and Jordan Hirst, husband and wife, who brings over 15 years’ experience with them will be behind the bar.

Carl said: “We are thrilled to be taking over The Plungington and have loved seeing the incredible transformation come to life over the past few weeks.

“The pub is already looking fantastic and we are really looking forward to welcoming back customers, both old and new.”

Carl and Jordan are also hoping to support the community by collecting food to donate to the local foodbank as well as raising money to have a defibrillator installed.

Inside the pub has been completely renovated with new flooring, fixtures and a pool and darts room. There is now one, large open-plan room with a DJ booth.

Outside will be a beer garden with space for 100 people, with new furniture and coverage for use all year round.

The Plungy has big plans for the opening weekend.

Friday 14th will see singer, Chloe Anne from 8pm and a live DJ set with karaoke on Saturday 15th from 8pm.

They plan to make the events and entertainment a regular part of the schedule, including hosting pool and darts teams.
