Landlady of a newly refurbished Ribbleton pub has spoken of how she’ll be putting in more events and remain at the heart of the community.

The Ribble Lodge, operated by Proper Pubs, joins more than 200 other pubs across England, Scotland and Wales and has seen a £215,000 invested in the pub.

Operator of the Ribble Lodge Rebecca Lyons plans to host multiple events in the revamped pub from quiz nights to live music and physic nights.

The pub in Ribbleton Avenue reopened sporting a new bar area, new furniture, flooring, fittings and fixtures.

Matthew Gurney, Operations Director for Proper Pubs, said: “I’m delighted to have Rebecca and the team on board at the Ribble Lodge and it’s fantastic to see how this incredible transformation has come to life”

It also has a venue room which hosts up to 120 people.

Ribble Lodge also has a new games room with new pool tables and darts boards.

To celebrate the reopening the Ribble lodge hosted a weekend of events which featured live music from local talents and a street food van.

Rebecca Lyons said: “I’ve loved my time at the Ribble Lodge so far and I’m so pleased with how the reopening went – we’ve already had such fantastic feedback from the community so I can’t wait for all that’s to come.”

The Ribble Lodge also has six television screens and a projector, complete with Sky and TNT Sports.

The pub hopes to support several community initiatives and will start by fundraising to have a lifesaving defibrillator installed at the pub and collecting food to donate to the local foodbank.
